Akari 10A floor lamp is part of the Akari Light Sculpture, designed by American-Japanese artist and designer Isamu Noguchi in 1951. His lighting design is inspired by fishermen's lanterns that attract fish, which have ribs made of bamboo and are covered with fine paper. He took this traditional lantern design as an opportunity to create his own light sculptures made of wood and paper.
